EIA and HRIA

Environmental impacts have been assessed through the Code of Practice (CoP) and Environmental Safety Assessment (ESA) undertaken for the Project. In addition, a supplementary HRIA has been undertaken for the Project. The EIA and HRIA Human for the Maha Sarakham Waste to Energy Project includes a thorough analysis of the potential impacts on local communities, focusing on several key areas:

1

Air Quality: The assessment carefully examines the potential changes in air quality due to emissions from the facility, considering both construction and operational phases.

2

Noise Pollution and Traffic: It evaluates the noise pollution levels and traffic congestion during the construction and operation, identifying the likely impacts on the daily lives of nearby residents.

3

Public Health Effects: The HRIA provides a detailed examination of how emissions and waste handling processes might impact public health in the surrounding areas.

4

Local Livelihoods, Land Use, and Potential Displacement: It delves into the potential socioeconomic impacts on local communities, including any changes in livelihoods, land use patterns, and the risk of displacing local communities due to the project.

Each of these areas is addressed with an aim to understand and mitigate the potential adverse impacts, ensuring the project aligns with both environmental and human rights standards.
