Stakeholder Engagement


The stakeholder engagement process for the Maha Sarakham Waste to Energy Project involved consultations with various stakeholders to identify human rights impacts. This engagement, conducted on 17th July 2023, included:

Meetings with the broader community, local authorities from the city, district, and village levels.

Interviews with households affected by land acquisition and those living near the project site.

Discussions with project staff and laborers engaged by construction contractors, including visits to the labor camp.

Government Authorities

At the Provincial level: Offices such as the Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment, the Mahasarakham Provincial Energy Office, the Mahasarakham Provincial Public Works and Town & Country Planning, the Mahasarakham Provincial Land Reform Office, and the Department of Local Administration Mahasarakham.

At the District level

The Mahasarakham Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO), Mueang Mahasarakham District, Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) and Municipality, Mueang Mahasarakham Municipality, and Waeng Nan Municipality.

Community Representatives and Authorities

Representatives from Nong Pling Sao, Nong No Sao, and Khok Kho Sao.

Households

Those affected by land acquisition/use restrictions and households in the vicinity engaged in waste collection/segregation.
